The story takes place in
the Autumn of 1961, in the area around a small Thuringian village near
the West German border. The wall is omnipresent, even though nobody

cramped house. The fulfilment of his life is sports. One day Jochen
notices the strange behaviour of the village postman. He discovers
Thomaschek going for a run in the forest and watching the railway
tracks with his binoculars
