When snow falls on the cemeteries, it is too cold for Hans to spend his nights there. He is homeless. He pretends to be deaf and dumb so that someone lets him in. Christiane, who after her daughterˇs death, leads a secluded life on the edge of the village, takes him in for a night. Locked up in the basement he listens to her footsteps in the lonely house. Stephan
Winkler tells the story of P. who visits earth just before
his birth. The cabbala teaches that the soul has an existence before
life on earth. On his way to deciding whether to be born or not, P.
experiences funny as well as tragic moments. Will P. decide for a life
on earth?

CSSR 1979. The
ten-year-old Milosch is in love with the group leader of his
pioneer unit. But Milosch cannot swim, which is embarrassing
particularly in
front of her. He can only dive. Germany 1980. Milosch is now an
asylum-seeker.
He cannot swim yet and he can’t speak German either.
Therefore the swimming
lessons are especially painful for the little boy. Until the diving
contest
starts…
