José Roberto Torero was born in 1963 in Santos in Brazil. His short films have won awards at several festivals including Clermont-Ferrand (?Nun et Simper?), Toronto (?Amour!?), Hamburg (?O Bolo?), and Greece (?A Alma do Negation?). He was nominated for the Oscar for ?Uma história de Futebol? (A Soccer Tale). He has also published four novels.

Fredi, a young blind boy who lives with his mother, leads a relatively routine existence. Stripped of all the enchanting things that make daily actions interesting, Fredi finds joy in specultion about the color of the things around him. Prefering the color white over all other colors, Fredi lives a life ruled by his color perceptions. When a chance encounter with a pretty girl leads Fredi to look beyond his perceptions and into an entirely new world, he just may have to change his views.

Liliana Sulzbach is a journalist and has a master?s degree in political science. She studied Communication Science at the Freie Universität Berlin and then worked for the Hamburg production company "Kino Kompanie" as well as for Spiegel Television, Germany, where she directed documentaries. She has been an advertising film production coordinator since 1996 and today coordinates Zeppelin?s Cinema and Television Departament. She has directed several award-winning films, including "O Branco" (The Colour White), "A Invenção da Infância" (The Invention of Childhood) and "O Cárcere e a Rua" (The Prison and the Street).
