Law Not War

Orginal title: Law Not War / Germany 2015 / Documentary / 90 minutes / Director: Ullabritt Horn / Suitable for 12 years and over

Benjamin Ferencz: The epochal 20th century story of a lawyer for peace

»It was cold-blooded murder and I can prove it!« With these words Benjamin Ferencz became the chief prosecutor 1947 at the Einsatzgruppen trial in Nuremburg against the murderous SS. A small man who still travels on a big mission around the world, Benjamin Ferencz is more than a living legend. The experiences he had back then became the driving force behind his tireless fight against war crimes around the world. “We have to return to law and order instead of wars – otherwise we will destroy the whole world”, is his vision for a more peaceful life together. His means: the implementation of an international criminal court as has now existed since 2002 in The Hague. On his way there many people declared him mad, but if he can’t get in through the front door, he’ll just have to go through the window was his reply. After this film you’ll believe that the over 100-year-old can do just about anything.
