Carsten Unger

Born 1977 in Gütersloh.
2001-2007 Studied Scenic Film Direction at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
2004 Masterclass "The Hollywood Perspective", UCLA in Los Angeles. During his studies at the Film Academy he made several short films as author and director and finished his studies with his diploma film "Der Blaue Affe", a co-production with the Hessischer Rundfunk.
In 2011 Carsten Unger made his debut film "Bastard", a feature length co-production with SWR which opened the 47th International Hofer Filmtage. "Bastard" was screened at international film festivals including the MoMa in New York and the 15th International Film Festival Shanghai and won several film awards, including Best Screenplay Filmpolicier in Liège and the Baden-Württemberg Film Award. In April 2013 "Bastard" will be released in cinemas throughout Germany.

Carsten Unger is currently preparing the feature film "Radio Zhora", funded by the MFG Baden-Württemberg.
