A documentary that shows how inclusive learning can work
If children do not learn from an early age that people are different, when will they learn? At the inclusive primary school Berg Fidel in Münster, everyone is part of it: whether highly gifted or have difficulties learning, mentally or physically impaired. While the political debate on the idea of an "open school" is being vividly discussed by adults, in Hella Wender's sensitive film portrait "Berg Fidel – One School for All" the children themselves have their say. With wit and charm, the four little protagonists David, Jakob, Anita and Lucas talk about their everyday school life and say more than many adults in their incomparable way.
"You belong with us!" – actually a self-evident fact. With her documentary "Berg Fidel: One School For All", Hella Wenders shows how it feels from the children's perspective. An important contribution to the topic of inclusion and a film that all teachers, educators and parents should see.
