THE SOUND OF NEUSCHWANSTEIN: PREMIERE IN FÜSSEN
The music documentary “The Sound of Neuschwanstein” premiered to thunderous applause on June 13, 2026, at the Alpenfilmtheater in Füssen. The screening took place on the 140th anniversary of the death of King Ludwig II, whose vision is the focus of the film.
At the start of the premiere, Susen Knabner (Neuschwanstein Concerts) and Stephan Winkler (W-FILM Distribution) welcomed the guests. Among the guests of honor were Prince Luitpold of Bavaria and Princess Beatrix of Bavaria. Numerous long-time associates, project partners, and supporters of the Neuschwanstein Concerts were also in attendance.
During the discussion that followed the screening, director Andreas Morell offered insights into the making of the film and spoke about the interplay between music, architecture, and history. The multi-award-winning director has already produced numerous documentaries about composers and musicians, including films on Nino Rota, Arnold Schoenberg, Tan Dun, Lang Lang, and Christoph Eschenbach.
The enthusiastic response from the audience demonstrated that “The Sound of Neuschwanstein” offers a fresh perspective on Neuschwanstein—not merely as a world-famous landmark, but as a vibrant cultural hub and an expression of an artistic vision.
