Maurizius Staerkle Drux

muaO0w2s.jpeg © MAXDRUX GmbH Maurizius Staerkle Drux was born in Cologne in 1988 and grew up in Zurich. He is a Swiss citizen. Influenced by his artist parents' home between musical instruments and sign language, he moves between the worlds of language and image, which converge in the film "The Art of Silence". In 2012 he completes his studies in directing at the Zurich University of the Arts (specialising in film) and receives his diploma with a specialisation in sound engineering. Since then he has worked as a filmmaker and sound designer. In 2014 he founded MAXDRUX & Co GmbH, received the "Upcoming Talents" young talent award from Suissimage/SSA and the "Goethe Prize" at the International Film Festival in Leipzig. His debut film "Die Böhms – Architektur einer Familie" (The Böhms – Architecture of a Family) was screened in over 30 countries and was one of the five most successful documentaries in German cinema in 2015 with over 25,000 viewers.
