Bettina Brokemper
In 2003 Bettina Brokemper founded her production company Heimatfilm + Co KG, and with COUNTERPARTS she was represented at the Cannes International Film Festival for the third time in a row. Christoph Hochhäusler's I AM GUILTY attracted a lot of attention in the section "Un certain regard" in 2005. In 2006, the Cologne-based producer was awarded "Producer on the Move" by the European Film Promotion.
Since 2001 Bettina Brokemper has been involved as a producer in the realisation of numerous international co-productions: In 2006, SWEET MUD was nominated by the Israeli selection committee for the Oscar as best foreign film production. The film won the Crystal Bear at the Berlinale 2007 and was awarded the World Cinema Jury Prize at the Sundance Festival. THE SYRIAN BRIDE was also honoured several times, including the Audience Award at the 2004 Locarno Film Festival, the Grand Prix of the Jury at the Montreal Film Festival, the Audience Award, the Prize of the International Film Critics and the Ecumenical Award.
