Nicolas Wadimoff
Nicolas Wadimoff was born in Geneva in 1964. He presented his first film "Le Bol" in Locarno in 1991. After "Les Gants d'Or d'Akka", a documentary film that was screened at many festivals in 1992, he realised the feature film "Stowaways" in 1997, which won numerous awards worldwide. After "L'accord" (2005), he shot the film "Aisheen (Still Alive in Gaza)" in 2009 with Béatrice Guelpa, which won an award at the Berlinale. In 2012, "Operation Libertad" was nominated in the "Quinzaine des Réalisateurs" series at the Cannes International Film Festival. For his documentary film "Spartiates" he won the prestigious "Prix de Soleure" in 2015.
His current documentary film "Jean Ziegler: The Optimism of Willpower" was a success at the International Film Festival in Locarno 2016 and will be released in German cinemas on 23 March 2017. Nicolas Wadimoff also co-produced the documentary film "Ghost Hunting", which was the first winner of the new documentary film award at the Berlinale in February 2017.
