Bright comedy about grown-ups growing up
Breastfeeding dementia, perineal tears and squeezing breasts – Marie is 34 and really can't listen to her friends' conversations anymore. On top of that, her boyfriend Sascha is also very keen to finally have children with her. So the fertile days are used to get naked again together. But does she really want that? So the whole big everything? Or would she rather be free and independent? And why does the damn biological clock tick so loudly?
When the questions in her head become too loud, Marie flees with Toyboy Lukas to a Tyrolean mountain hut. Super wild sex and without any obligations, yeah! Having reached the peak of lust, Marie has to realise that Sascha also allows himself a few pleasurable hours there with his affair Birgit, who is much older than him. Because the lift no longer runs downhill, the quartet now enjoys an uncomfortably revealing weekend. Whether Marie wants it or not, it's now time to get down to business.
"Maybe, Baby!" is a smart independent comedy about growing up beyond the age of 30. The successful directing debut of Berlin actress Julia Becker ("Hauptstadtrevier", "The Hannas") shows a lot of truth about the generation of Thirtysomethings who believe they still have an infinite amount of time. All-rounder Julia Becker also wrote the script and plays the role of tough Marie on top of it. In other roles shine: Marc Ben Puch ("Doctor's Diary"), Christian Natter ("Wetlands") and Charlotte Crome ("Germany 83").
