Julia Becker, born in Berlin in 1982, became known to a wider audience through her role in the ARD early evening series "Hauptstadtrevier". Already at the age of eight she wrote in a poetry album that she wanted to become a 'filstar'. Presumably because her parents did not know exactly that she meant 'film star', they forced her to study German language and literature without success. Afterwards it was clear to everyone that coercion was useless and she studied acting in Berlin and New York. While still at acting school, she founded her own small ensemble, wrote plays for it, directed and stood on stage. The money she earned with this and with her television engagements she put completely into her first short film "(Un)Möglichkeiten" in 2011, in which she did almost everything herself besides sound and camera.

In 2014, Julia Becker will then work as a producer for the feature film "Floating!" Together with the director, Julia C. Kaiser, she also develops the story of the film and takes one of the leading roles. In 2016, she also plays in Julia C. Kaiser's second feature film "The Hannas". During the filming she starts writing the script for her own debut film "Maybe, Baby!" After that, everything happens quickly: within three months, Frauke Kolbmüller from Oma Inge Film, as producer, gets the shoot off the ground in Tyrol and Berlin. The two of them renounce funding and decide to go for a crowd-funding campaign in order to be free and independent in the realisation. Julia Becker directs and plays the role of Marie herself. Only one year later the film is finished and celebrates its premiere in 2017 at the Festival des deutschen Films in Ludwigshafen in front of 1100 spectators. On April 26, 2018 "Maybe, Baby!" will start in German cinemas.
