My Brother's Name Is Robert and He Is an Idiot

Germany, France, Switzerland 2018 / Drama / 172 minutes / Director: Philip Gröning / Suitable for 16 years and over

Julia Zange (Elena)

»Maybe it was fate... A friend and I had organised a casting for a French film. When the casting took place in a hotel in Berlin, Jette insisted that I also get accepted. At that time Philip Gröning was looking for his leading actress – also in France. So my videotapes made a detour to Paris and back to Berlin. Gröning in turn thought that I was Dutch and couldn't speak German at all. We met anyway. And when I read the script, it was very clear to me inside: Elena is me.«
