Susanne Bohlmann
Director & Writer
Susanne Bohlman, born in Osnabrück in 1978, studied acting and journalism. She started her career as an actress in front of the camera and then increasingly worked as a director and screenwriter for film and television. In 2004 she founded her production companies kreatiFILM and ConkerTreeFilm in Cologne, with which she has since realised several commissioned productions and realised her own film projects. In 2014 her first film reference book "Filmszenen für Schauspieler und Filmemacher" was published by UVK Verlag.
In her long documentaries, Susanne Bohlmann repeatedly deals with people's dreams and longings: In "To.Pas", for example, the couple, who are over 60, want to finally build their own ship and sail around the world with it. In "Pink Elephants", actors in Bernard Hiller's master class dream of their big breakthrough, and in the 3sat/ZDF co-production "Eine Armlänge Welt", deaf-blind Sven sets out on the path of his life – the Way of St. James.
