»A case is unravelled in flashbacks. A murder of Leila, Anna's girlfriend. Both had been living on the streets and in abandoned cellars. This is the frame story, which runs like a detective story and is deciphered in small bites. Black and white flashback images, with quick cuts and a nervous camera, exciting to follow, but interspersed rather haphazardly until the dramatic events are resolved. After the death of her friend, Anna decides to undergo therapy in a reformatory for young girls in the Valais mountains and meets Magenta there. ... The film proves the high, almost unbearable burden and responsibility that have to be borne and endured by all those involved in such a therapeutic institution, carers and protégés alike.«
