Dennis Todorović was born in 1977 in Ellwangen, Swabia, the son of a Czech mother and a Montenegrin father. He studied theatre and television directing with ARTTS International in England. Afterwards he worked in film in Prague, among other things as art department coordinator for the two-part television series "Anne Frank" and then studied film direction at the ifs International Film School in Cologne.

His graduation film "Amor fati" was shown in Locarno and was nominated for the First Steps Award in 2006. His cinema debut "Sasha" (2010) celebrated its German premiere at the Hof International Film Festival and received several awards at festivals in Germany, Austria, Spain, the Czech Republic and Russia. "The Prodigal Sister" is his second feature film, for which he is responsible as director and author, and had its premiere at the Hof International Film Festival 2015. Already in 2012 he was nominated for the Thomas Strittmatter Script Award for the film's screenplay.

Dennis Todorović is a graduate of renowned European training programmes, among others: EKRAN Andrzej Wajda-Master School of Film Directing Warsaw, Author Programme ifs International Film School Cologne, Script Station & Talent Market Berlinale Talents, Sarajevo Talent Campus. In 2008 he received a literature scholarship from the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg. For his science fiction feature film project "The Laika Capsule", he received a scholarship from the Wim Wenders Foundation and the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW in 2015, together with co-author Christoph Mathieu.

Dennis Todorović lives and works as director, author and lecturer for film acting in Cologne. In November his six-part novel series "Lucid", also co-authored with Christoph Mathieu, will be published by Bastei-Lübbe-Verlag.
